Our Commitment

Quality Is Verified, Not Assumed

Since 1997, our customers have relied on us for material that performs exactly as specified in pressure systems, structures, machinery and tooling. A wrong grade, a local substitute or a missing certificate does not just stop a project – it can cause a failure or an accident on site. That is why we supply only genuine, original-grade material and build quality checks into every step, from choosing the mill to loading the truck.

Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2008, and our team works to the international product standards our customers specify – ASTM, ASME, EN, DIN, AFNOR (NF), BS, IS and JIS. This standard of supply is what industrial and government projects have trusted us for over nearly three decades.

Quality Policy Statement

A. Metalex Industrial Corporation

We are committed to supplying industrial raw materials that conform to the grade, specification, dimensions and quantity ordered by our customers – delivered on time and at a fair price. To achieve this, we shall:

  • Supply only genuine, original-grade material in the specified European, American, Indian or international grade – never a local substitute.
  • Source material only from reliable, evaluated mills and manufacturers.
  • Verify every consignment against the purchase order, applicable standard and mill test certificate before dispatch.
  • Maintain traceability of material from heat number to customer delivery.
  • Store, handle and pack material so that it reaches the customer free from damage and contamination.
  • Train our people and continually improve our quality management system in line with ISO 9001.
  • Listen to customer feedback and resolve any complaint promptly and fairly.

Our Guarantee

Genuine Grades – Never Local Substitutes

Low-quality material is the hidden cause of leaks, cracks and accidents on site. Our answer since 1997 has been simple: supply the original grade, prove it with certificates, and stand behind it.

Original Grade Guarantee

The grade on the certificate is the grade in the material – confirmed by PMI on request. We do not pass off local or unknown material as a specified grade.

European & Worldwide Grades

European (EN / DIN), AFNOR, American (ASTM / AISI), British, Japanese and Indian grades, plus material for Gulf-project specifications – one of the widest grade lists in the market.

Trusted on Government Projects

Continuous supply since 1997 to industrial and engineering works and to government projects, where documentation and material integrity are checked strictly.

Inspect Before You Accept

Customer and third-party inspectors are welcome at our premises. Test certificates, PMI and laboratory testing are provided so you can verify the material yourself.

Quality Objectives

Four Things We Get Right

Right Grade

Chemistry and mechanical properties that match the ordered specification and grade – confirmed from the MTC and, where required, by PMI or laboratory testing.

Right Size

Diameter, wall thickness, schedule, length and flatness checked against the dimensional standard and tolerances on the purchase order.

Right Documents

Complete, legible certificates and test reports whose heat numbers match the marking on the material supplied.

Right Time

Material packed, marked and dispatched on the committed date – because a delay on site costs as much as a defect.

Quality Assurance Process

Six Checkpoints, Every Order

From the mill to your site, each consignment passes through the same documented checkpoints.

  1. 01

    Supplier Evaluation

Material is sourced from established mills and manufacturers, evaluated on product quality, certification and delivery performance.

  2. 02

    Incoming Inspection

On receipt, material is checked for quantity, size, surface condition and visible defects, and the marking is compared with the delivery documents.

  3. 03

    Certificate Review

The mill test certificate is reviewed against the ordered standard – chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treatment and test results.

  4. 04

    Identification & Traceability

Every piece keeps its heat number. When material is cut to size, the heat number is transferred to each cut piece before it leaves the bay.

  5. 05

    Pre-Dispatch Inspection

A final check of grade, dimensions, quantity and marking against the purchase order. PMI, laboratory tests or third-party inspection are carried out here when specified.

  6. 06

    Packing & Dispatch

Material is packed to protect surface and ends, tagged with heat numbers, and dispatched with the complete document set.

Testing & Inspection

Tests Available On Request

Beyond the mill certificate, the following tests can be arranged in-house or through accredited laboratories, as per the standard or purchase order you specify.

Positive Material Identification

Non-destructive verification of alloy composition using handheld XRF or OES analysers – confirms the grade before dispatch.

  • XRF
  • OES

Chemical Analysis

Spark optical emission spectrometry to determine the full chemical composition of the heat.

  • ASTM E415
  • ASTM E1086

Tensile Testing

Ultimate tensile strength, yield strength (0.2% proof), elongation and reduction of area.

  • ASTM A370
  • ASTM E8

Hardness Testing

Brinell, Rockwell or Vickers hardness – essential for tool steels, wear plates and heat-treated bars.

  • ASTM E10
  • ASTM E18
  • ASTM E92

Impact Testing

Charpy V-notch toughness, including sub-zero testing for low-temperature grades such as ASTM A350 LF2.

  • ASTM E23
  • ASTM A370

Ultrasonic Testing

Volumetric examination for internal discontinuities in forgings, plates, pipes and tubes.

  • ASTM A388
  • ASTM A578
  • ASTM E213

Hydrostatic Testing

Pressure testing of pipes and tubes to the test pressure required by the product specification.

  • ASTM A530
  • ASTM A999
  • ASTM A1016

Corrosion Testing

Intergranular corrosion for stainless steels; pitting resistance and intermetallic-phase detection for duplex grades.

  • ASTM A262
  • ASTM G48
  • ASTM A923

Dimensional & Visual

OD, wall thickness, length, ovality, flatness and surface finish, checked against the applicable dimensional standard.

  • ASME B36.10M
  • ASME B36.19M
  • ASME B16.5

Tests beyond those reported on the mill certificate are carried out on request and may affect price and delivery time. Please specify requirements at the enquiry stage.

Documentation

Inspection Documents as per EN 10204

EN 10204 defines the types of inspection documents supplied with metallic products. Most industrial orders are supplied with a Type 3.1 certificate; Type 3.2 is issued when a purchaser's or third-party inspector witnesses the tests.

Identification & Traceability

Read the Marking, Trace the Heat

Typical marking on a seamless stainless steel pipe. The heat number links the material to its mill test certificate – so you can trace every length back to the melt.

ASTM A312 TP316L SMLS 2" NB × SCH 40S HEAT No. 12345A HT

  1. 1Specification Product standard the pipe is made to
  2. 2Grade Material grade within that standard
  3. 3Type SMLS = seamless, WLD = welded
  4. 4Size Nominal bore and wall schedule
  5. 5Heat Number Links the pipe to its MTC
  6. 6Test HT = hydrostatically tested

No Cross-Contamination

Stainless and nickel alloys are stored and handled separately from carbon steel to avoid free-iron contamination and rust staining.

End Protection

Pipe ends are fitted with plastic caps; flange faces and threaded ends are protected against impact.

Seaworthy Packing

Bundles, wooden crates or pallets with protective wrapping for export shipments and long-distance transport.

Tagged & Labelled

Every bundle and crate carries a tag with grade, size, quantity and heat number that matches the certificate.
